dublin, ireland. we're going to have some more major st. patrick's day celebrations. a little bit cooler for some of you and a little bit warmer for others depending on where that sun came out. we had 75, also 74 in santa rosa. kind of mild with that cloud cover overhead. it's helping to cap off with that heating. conditions mainly in the upper 50s. now, live to that sky hd, a look at alcatraz and also the koit tower. you're able to see it not much in the way of low cloud cover, but, once again, we do have that vail of haze sitting up above. high pressure offshore, that's going to drive some slightly offshore wind. that will keep it mild at least for saturday and sunday. >>> then, eventually, in that seven-day forecast, we are going to be getting much colder changes by next week. temperatures going down into the 50s and also some much-needed rain for that. you'll find that familiar and cooler weather in the coastline. 50s and 60s. and then back from the interior valley. so let's bring you on into that saturday morning. so if you're planning on sleeping in, temperatures should be comforte

this st. patrick's day. during this annual st. patty's day festival, cisco systems will provide a live feed through the two cities. revelers can see the celebration in ireland which includes an address by mayor ed lee, who is visiting cork. you can find the lincoln our website under the "see it on tv" tab. it is today, not tomorrow. it goes from market and second street. the festival runs until 5:00 p.m. at the civic center plaza. never too early to start celebrating st. patrick's day. how is the weather going to be? >> just fantastic. we will see temperatures once again above average. heading outside checking our live doppler hd where things are nice and quiet. as we head toward the middle of the week, the beginning of spring, the vernal equinox, we will be looking at rain. we will add to out totals come tuesday night into wednesday. those things are all quiet right now and we're looking at coastal fog. here's a look downtown. if you are headed into the city you notice the fog is banked up along our beaches and temperatures are in the lower 40s. some of the coolest locations in the no

st. patrick's day. we are going to talk about pollen as well. those numbers, the levels should be creaking down. first, i'll check your drive and see how we are doing there. >> i do see that fog creeping around. i will try to show that in a shot coming up. 101 northbound, the bottom right of your screen with a wider screen. flashing lights. we may have just had a fender-bender in front of the camera, north 101 at 680. i'll move that camera and check things out. nothing on chp reports just yet. it does show this entire stretch already slow. it may be worse with distractions through that area. another crash farther north, east 237 and slowing on north 680 as well. there is that transition off of calavaris. this is at least a distraction, if not completely blocking at least one of the lanes. we see both of those freeways. keep that in mind as we head out of the south bay. the bottom of the screen, highway 87 starting to show slowing north into downtown. we are looking over towards the east bay as well. 880 southbound starting to show slowing in towards hayward. we will getting a l

that could really use cause to celebrate these days. >>> well, finally st. patrick's day weekend is here. the biggest parade in the country is tomorrow along 5th avenue in manhattan. among the marchers will be a band from the heavily irish-american section of the rockaways called breezy point. a part of coastal new york city that was devastated during hurricane sandy. they lost their equipment, practice space and homes in a lot of cases. they are going to prove this weekend they haven't lost a step. our report from nbc's stephanie gosk. >> reporter: march is the month for irish pipe bands. in the build-up to st. patrick's day there is a parade every weekend. the pipers from breezy point, queens, just barely got the band together in time. after the big storm the crowds are very happy to see them. ♪ >> we lost a lot of equipment. you know, a lot of the drummers lost drums. we lost the flags. >> reporter: $20,000 of damage. drums, pipes and kilts had to be custom made by a company in northern ireland. the practice hall was destroyed. the storm, and then the fire. this neighborhood bore th

two beautiful days. one of those days is st. patrick's day. the luck of the irish is with us this weekend. temperatures are going to be comfortable. we still have the fog in the forecast for the morning. it will get worse before it gets better. we are expecting the thickest fog at the immediate coast until about 3:00 p.m. it is going to whoever around the coastline. then, the winds pick up. they will play a bigger factor than they have all week long. you will want to keep that in line. you will notice where you start to get yellows and oranges turning gusty. saturday, the winds pick up more so. the colors really start to pop in the north bay. temperatures are going to be comfortable, 70s today. as we head through tomorrow, 70s continue. we promised you that rain. that's in the forecast as well as we get into tuesday and wednesday. our chances are looking really good. 78 for gilroy. 72, los gatos. 75 for livermore. dublin looking good today. holding on to some of that great weather as we get into st. patrick's day. let's talk about some of the events you get into. friday, the

weekend for st. patrick's day. as you look at live doppler 7 right now you'll notice there is cloud cover. we have mid and high level clouds just streaming overhead but those are not rain clouds. rain holds off until next week. there is a chance of snow looking at heavenly. san francisco, 54 now, san jose, 68. temperatures cooler today, low 50s to mid-70s. you can he clouds stacked um here, 72 degrees in livermore, it's pretty mild. 70 degrees in cupertino. mostly cloudy skies overnight. and looking at pacific satellite, high pressure is still controlling our weather but it's what we call a dirty ridge. strong enough to keep storms away. so clouds just spilling owe over the top. we'll continue to see high clouds and fog into friday. so at 7:00 tonight you can see high clouds overnight, clouds continue by morning you can see patchy fog. high clouds for friday afternoon, temperatures about the same. we'll see cooling on sunday, tomorrow morning low 40s to low 50s, we'll have fog around. it's not going to be as dense because of the cloud cover overhead preventing fog from forming until morni

or something. patrick killey did not just snap yesterday he planned it. wearing a jacket to protect himself. carrying hundreds of rounds of extra ammunition. specifically going to his old school and trying to divert police to a molotov cocktail to his own car. after five children were killed and 32 wounded police say the gunman shot and killed himself. the killing machine was this ak47 with bayonette. carved into the mall lot -- mallot was hezbollah. her nephew had been killed. other parents in the chaos had followed the shooting clustered at the school waiting and hoping. those who were hit were rushed to stockton area hospitals. emergency room stabilized and parents were running to find out how their children were. 18 of the children were admitted in severe conditions. singh was one of the lucky ones. a few hours after the shooting she left with her mother, she had been shot in the arm. it was near some portable classrooms where police say the gunman committed suicide. those classrooms were filled with children in a hard of hearing class. all the children killed at this school today we
